This victory is significant for fans of electric cars – for the first time in the history of the competition, an all-electric model won. A total of 30 cars competed in the competition, one in three of which are environmentally friendly.

Automotive journalist \u017dilvinas Pekarskas shares his impressions of the “champion” ID.3<\/em>: “The most important sensation is the size and handling of the ID.3. This is a pleasant surprise. The dimensions of the car are similar to a VW Passat. Calling it a “can of worms” would therefore be irresponsible. According to Valdas Valiukevi\u010dius, President of the Lithuanian Automobile Journalists’ Club, the Car of the Year election has become a reliable tool for Lithuanian drivers looking for a new car.

<\/p>

The Car of the Year candidates are judged by a 10-member jury appointed annually by the Lithuanian Automobile Journalists Club. The jury is made up of professional automotive journalists and car market experts.

<\/p>

The pandemic has changed the commission’s activities somewhat – instead of taking part in the traditional test camp in Druskininkai, they tested the cars individually. According to \u017dilvinas Pekarskis, one of the evaluators, this decision made the Commission’s work more objective and allowed it to assess many details and nuances.

<\/p>

\u017dilvinas Pekarskas, editor of the news portal 15min.lt’<\/em> s “Gaza” column, describes the essence of the elections: “The purpose of the final vote <…> – to elect a ‘happy medium’.
